Our Story
Founded in 1989 by William L. Sheals, the 100 Black Men of North Metro Atlanta Inc began as a grassroots effort to provide positive African American male role models for youth in the community. Initially known as "The Concerned Black Men of North Metro," the organization received its charter from the national office of 100 Black Men of America, Inc. in 1992, becoming the twenty-seventh chapter. Over the years, the organization has expanded its reach into Cobb, Gwinnett, and North Fulton Counties, focusing on mentoring and community engagement.
Impact
The primary focus of the North Metro chapter is mentoring, with the "Men of Tomorrow" program serving as its flagship initiative. This program targets at-risk youth, providing group mentoring to over 100 young individuals biweekly. With a strong emphasis on academic excellence, the chapter boasts an impressive near 100% graduation rate for its mentees.
