Our Story
In 1963, a group of visionary African American leaders in New York City came together to explore ways to improve their community. This initiative, which began with a handful of businessmen and industry leaders, has since blossomed into a national movement known as 100 Black Men of America, Inc. With over 10,000 members, the organization reaches more than 125,000 underserved and underrepresented minority youth annually.
100 Black Men of Greater Orlando, Inc. was established in 1991, continuing the mission of enhancing educational and economic opportunities for African Americans. The organization implements a youth-focused strategy that includes training and mentoring in education, health, and economic development. Through these programs, creativity is fostered while promoting academic and social responsibility.
Key initiatives include participation in the Orange County Teach-In, mentorship for Orange County Public Schools, and support for the Nap Ford Charter School. Additionally, the organization has contributed $10,000 to the Florida A&M University College of Law Scholarship Fund and awards scholarships to Jones High School graduates, providing financial support for their undergraduate education.
