Our Story

The Virginia Early Childhood Foundation (VECF) was established in 2005 as a public-private partnership dedicated to enhancing early childhood education in Virginia. Over the years, VECF has evolved to strengthen local systems and influence state-level policies, ensuring that all families with young children have equitable opportunities to thrive.

Our Impact

VECF has made significant strides, including the creation of a joint legislative subcommittee for preK reform and securing a $70 million federal grant for preK expansion, which has greatly increased access to quality education.
