The DREAM Program began in 1998 when Kathryn Ross, an AmeriCorps member, initiated after-school programming for children living in a housing development. Evolving into a nonprofit in 2001, DREAM was founded by mentors dedicated to providing meaningful adult involvement in children's lives.
DREAM provides youth with mentorship and support, leading to improved academic motivation, social-emotional skills, and personal outcomes. In the 2022-2023 evaluation, 472 youth participated, showing significant growth in their skills and relationships with mentors.
