Domestic Violence Prevention and Support Services

Our Story

Founded in 1981, the Southeast Spouse Abuse Program, now known as SAFE - Southeast Advocates for Family Empowerment, emerged from a commitment to support survivors of family violence. After engaging with clients and community stakeholders, a dedicated group of attorneys and staff from Southeast Louisiana Legal Services Corporation recognized the urgent need for comprehensive support services. This led to the establishment of a program that has since evolved to serve the needs of survivors across Tangipahoa, St. Helena, Washington, and Livingston Parishes.

Impact on the Community

SAFE is a vital resource for individuals and families seeking safety and support to rebuild their lives. By providing essential services such as a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency lodging, and legal advocacy, SAFE plays a crucial role in improving the quality of life for those affected by domestic violence.

Why Donate?

Your support is critical in helping SAFE provide immediate assistance to survivors of domestic violence and their children. Donations ensure access to emergency housing, food, clothing, and the necessary tools for rebuilding lives free from violence.
