Our Story

In 2000, a small group of dedicated individuals recognized the urgent needs of the homeless in rural communities. This led to the formation of the Mid Florida Homeless Coalition, which was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 2001. Today, the Coalition serves as the lead agency for Citrus, Hernando, Lake, and Sumter counties, working tirelessly to address homelessness through collaboration and support.

Impact

The Coalition coordinates the community’s response to homelessness, striving to create a comprehensive service system that reduces the incidence and duration of homelessness. With the support of state and federal agencies, the Coalition is making a significant difference in the lives of those in need.
