Our Story

Lifelong Access was founded in 1955 by families of children with disabilities, aiming to provide essential support during a time when these children faced exclusion from public education. Over the decades, the organization has transformed, evolving from a small school for five students to a comprehensive service provider for individuals with disabilities throughout their lives. In 2023, the organization adopted the name Lifelong Access to better reflect its mission.

Impact

Today, Lifelong Access offers a variety of services, including housing for adults with developmental disabilities, vocational skills training, and transition programs for high school students, significantly enhancing access to vital support in McLean County.
