About Florida Wildlife Hospital

Founded in 1973 by Carlton and Gladys Teate, the Florida Wildlife Hospital (FWH) began as a dream to rehabilitate sick and injured wildlife. Initially operating from their home in Melbourne, the organization has evolved significantly over the years. After several relocations, FWH established its current facility in Palm Shores, Florida, in 1998. The state-of-the-art wildlife rehabilitation center, built debt-free in 2003, has become a beacon of hope for local wildlife.

Impact on Wildlife

FWH treats over 5,000 patients annually, providing essential care, feeding, and rehabilitation for injured wildlife. The organization also maintains ongoing care for 10 ambassador animals that play a crucial role in educational outreach.
