Our Story

Athenspets is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping the most vulnerable animals in the Athens, Georgia area. Founded in 2001 as an informal volunteer group, it became a formal organization in 2015. Athenspets focuses on providing care for shelter animals, promoting adoptions, and reducing pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs.

Impact

Since its inception, Athenspets has successfully facilitated the adoption of numerous shelter animals, maintaining a 100% live release rate for dogs and cats in their care.
