San Francisco Community Health Center
EIN: 94-3096109 · San Francisco, CA
Our Story
Founded in 1987, the Asian and Pacific Islander Wellness Center emerged from the urgent need to address the AIDS crisis impacting the Asian and Pacific Islander community. Originally established as a response to this epidemic, the organization has evolved significantly over the years. In 1996, it was rebranded to focus on the unique needs of API communities while remaining inclusive to all. Achieving recognition as a federally qualified health center in 2015 allowed for expanded clinical services, and in 2018, the organization adopted the name San Francisco Community Health Center to better reflect its diverse offerings.
Our Impact
The mission is clear: to transform lives by advancing health, wellness, and equality. By fostering a sense of belonging, the center provides comprehensive services that go beyond traditional health care, ensuring that every individual feels valued and supported.
