Our Story

In 1962, when Dobbs Ferry Community Hospital ceased ambulance services, community members like Gene Downey, Larry Cabot, and Vic Grutzner took action. They founded the Ardsley-Secor Volunteer Ambulance Corps, a dedicated non-profit organization committed to serving the Village of Ardsley and surrounding areas. ASVAC operates without funding from village taxes, relying instead on community donations and third-party billing for ambulance transports. Generous grants, such as those from the Thomas & Agnes Carvel Estate, have also supported the purchase of vital equipment.

Our Impact

ASVAC is the primary EMS 9-1-1 responding agency for the Village of Ardsley, answering approximately 700 calls each year and providing essential emergency medical services to the community.

Why Donate?

Your support is crucial for maintaining our services and ensuring the highest level of patient care. ASVAC conducts an annual fund drive, and every donation, no matter the size, makes a significant difference.
