Our Story

Founded in 2005, Another Chance Animal Welfare League was established by a passionate group of six individuals who envisioned a world where every adoptable pet has a chance at a loving forever home. Inspired by the memory of Abby, a shelter dog who deserved another chance, ACAWL has grown significantly over the years, thanks to the dedication of volunteers, generous donors, and a thriving thrift shop located in Palo Cedro, California.

Impact on the Community

ACAWL has made a profound impact on the local animal community by rescuing, caring for, and re-homing lost, abandoned, and surrendered animals. In 2015 alone, volunteers contributed an astounding 151,300 hours of service, reflecting the organization's unwavering commitment to animal welfare.
